Omid Karkouti, MS, Research Program Director
Omid joined NF2 BioSolutions as Research Program Director in April 2020. Omid has spent his career as a biotechnology executive focused on accelerating drug development through technology. Since 2018, he has worked as an entrepreneur developing therapeutic pipelines for monogenic diseases and cancer, and is the inventor of a novel gene therapy manufacturing system currently in development. Omid holds a Master of Science in Molecular Virology from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego. Omid is personally connected to the rare disease patient community as a patient advocate for genetic blindness.

Nishant Tyagi is a student at the University of Texas at Dallas pursuing a degree in Biology and Healthcare Management. He has two years of experience in designing and researching nanomedical and neurosurgical techniques at University of North Texas and Houston Methodist. Also, he helped implement a leading community advocate program to focus on the social comorbidities of unfunded, Medicare, and Medicaid patients in a large hospital system.
